Prof. (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Vice-chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur unanimously elected as convener of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021

 

 

New Delhi, November 13, 2020: The Governing Body of the Consortium of National Law Universities on Friday unanimously elected Professor (Dr.) Vijender Kumar, Vice chancellor of Maharashtra National Law University, Nagpur as the convener of Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021.

 

The Consortium of National Law Universities unanimously elected other executive members also at its annual meeting are:

 

The Vice Chancellor of NALSAR Hyderabad, Professor (Dr.) Faizan Mustafa has been elected new President of the Executive Committee of Consortium of National Law Universities.

 

Professor Poonam Saxena, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Jodhpur, has been elected the Vice President; Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2021;

 

Professor V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice-Chancellor, HNLU, Raipur, as the member of the executive committee for CLAT-2021.

 

Kumar succeeds Prof. Balraj Chauhan who served as convener of CLAT 2020 which witnessed the withdrawal of National Law School of India University, Bengaluru (NLSIU) from the consortium leading to chaos and eventually culminating in a litigation before the Supreme Court.


Mustafa succeeds Professor (Dr.) V Vijayakumar of NLIU Bhopal who will continue as the member of the Executive Committee.

 

The new Executive Committee is expected to meet soon to work out and finalise the details of CLAT 2021.
